Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden
Home to South Africa’s succulent plant diversity. The garden conserves and displays plants of the arid and semi-arid regions of southern Africa, with a focus on succulents. The 154-hectare garden lies at the foot of the Hex River Mountain Range with three hiking trails, a plant sales nursery and a large lawn for picnics. The most popular time of the year to visit the garden is in spring when the annuals and vygies (mesembs) are in flower.

With its 11 award-winning wine estates and 2 world-class olive producers, the beautiful valley offers an unforgettable experience: sunny Mediterranean-like weather, authentic old-world charm, a relaxed country atmosphere and is renowned as one of the country’s award-winning wine destinations .

Worcester Golf Club
The Championship course is situated in the foothills of the Brandwacht Mountains with a panoramic view of Worcester and the Breede River Valley. Designed by the legendary Gary Player, who has described the site as one of the finest in the world. The rugged natural beauty of the Karoo has been enhanced by indigenous trees, dams and watercourses. It is a challenging course which rewards daring shots but can severely punish bad ones. The large bent grass greens were built and are maintained to the highest standards.

Willow Creek Olive Estate
Willow Creek Estate lies in the Nuy Valley in the Western Cape. Overlooked by the Rabie Mountain, which forms part of the Langeberg Mountain range, the farm has been in the Rabie family since the late 1700s, when it was first cultivated by Johannes Stephanus Rabie. His descendant, Andries Rabie, planted the first olive trees in 1999, and in 2002, the first oil was pressed.
At Willow Creek Olive Estate, the producers celebrate all that is ‘olive’, revelling in their quest to produce world-class delicacies from this multifaceted fruit.
Since ancient times, olives have been associated with prosperity and vitality, while the olive tree itself is a revered symbol in religion and many cultures. Providing shade, shelter, sustenance, serenity, and beauty, these venerable trees offer a myriad of benefits.

Breede River Rafting
Just over an hour from Cape Town, the Breede is the largest wine-producing area in the country. The river winds its way through the countryside, making for a relaxing day out. The river here consists of stretches of flat water and flowing channels through the reed islands. There are no demanding rapids, which makes it the perfect trip for all ages and skill levels. We use inflatable 2-person ‘crocs’ for this trip – they are stable and easy to paddle and make the perfect tanning and swimming platform. A truly chilled day out in the country, with a glass of wine to end it off.
