Melela's Kids Corner

If you’re visiting Cape Town and need a kid-friendly venue, Melela’s Kids Corner at GrandWest has you covered. Our fully supervised crèche, staffed by qualified childminders, ensures your little ones are safe and entertained while you enjoy the casino or catch up with friends over lunch or dinner. Located inside GrandWest, the daycare welcomes children aged 2 to 12 and offers a variety of engaging games and activities for both toddlers and tweens.

R70 OFF NAPPY and R280 for 4 hours
R80 ON NAPPY per hour and R320 for 4 hours

Thursday - Sunday: 10h00 to 23h00
School Holidays: 10h00 to 23h00

Melela’s Kids Corner cares for kids from 2 to 12 years old. No admission of children after 21h00.

Rules & Regulations

In accordance with the rules and policies of the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board, the following will have to be strictly adhered to:

The closing time of the facility will be at 23h00 on Thursdays to Sundays.
Full details of the parent/guardian are required on the admission form.
A maximum of four hours in a calendar day may be spent at Melela's Kids Corner.

A penalty fee will be raised for offenders who contravene the set time of four hours.
Whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of children participating in the daily activities, the owners, managers and employees of Melela's Kids Corner, as well as GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, do not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to property, injuries or any liabilities arising out of any activities, however caused.
Please check on your child/children within four hours as specified by the WCGRB.
A child will only be released to the parents/guardians who booked him/her in on presentation of an identity document/driver's license/wrist bands.
An in-house or clinic doctor will be contacted on your behalf in an emergency.
'Take-out' food will be ordered when necessary.
A penalty of R200 (up to 30 minutes late) and R600.00 (up to one hour late) will be levied for late collections after four hours. This penalty will serve as a warning that a three-month ban will be imposed for the next late collection.
The parent/guardian who is excessively late for collection (more than one hour) shall be reported to Security, who shall locate the parent/guardian on the complex and escort him/her to Melela's Kids Corner. A ban of three months from the complex may be imposed.
Melela's Kids Corner reserves its right to decline service to the defaulting parent/guardian in future.
