Sun City Hotel Reveals Its Stylish New Look. An Icon Reimagined
Since 1979, the Sun City Hotel has been the jewel of African hospitality. Now, 46 years later, the grand dame has undergone a spectacular transformation to reclaim her crown.
From November 2025, just in time for the Nedbank Golf Challenge and festive season, guests can look forward to:
- Newly reimagined rooms: most of the hotel's rooms have been refurbished with serene neutrals, warm gold and turquoise, contemporary bathrooms, plush king beds and sweeping golf course views.
- A glamorous new porte-cochere & lobby journey: granite floors, dazzling light displays and an open, flowing design.
- The reborn Sun Terrace restaurant: inspired by Tswana artistry, panoramic views, retractable glass doors and an interactive live-cooking theatre.
- A vibrant entertainment pool level: with a DJ island, private cabanas, daybeds and family play zones.
As Sun City General Manager Brett Hoppe says, “From the day that Sun City Hotel first opened its doors, South Africans have streamed through them, all caught up in the magic and the dream that Sun City offered. We promised the glamour of Vegas, balanced by world-class family leisure and entertainment facilities. But at 46, our hotel was looking tired, so we knew we had to restore it to its former glory. There was nothing like it back then, and after the refurbishment, we know that guests will agree there is nothing like it now.”
