Hard Rock Cafe opened its doors in London in 1971 when two young Americans couldn’t find a jaunt that served classic American burgers. After signing a six-month lease on a property that was previously used as a Rolls Royce car dealership, Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton opened their flagship store. In 1973, at this dealership-turned-diner, Paul McCartney & Wings performed spontaneously in front of a live audience, turning Hard Rock into a stomping ground for London’s music industry elite and groupies alike. Today, Hard Rock Cafe hosts over 15 000 music events at its 188 stores across the globe.
